Hillary Ally Schoen: Why Should She Answer Anything When She’s the Frontrunner?

‘—She’s the leader of Democrat canddiates, she’s the front-runner in the general election’

MacCALLUM: "Why she would do that is the question. The New York Times has this new thing where they just throw out a Hillary question because they say she has only answered seven questions since declaring her intention to be president of the United States."
SCHOEN: "And I would go back and say at this point why would she do anything like that? She's got 70 percent in the Democratic primary. She is the front runner in the general election --"[crosstalk]
MacCALLUM: "But, Dough, that's not good enough answer. I mean, I get what you are saying, right -"[crosstalk]
SCHOEN: "Is it a good enough reason in politics if you win? It is and ultimately she'll lay out policy prescriptions. One thing, Martha, I think you are right about. Having worked to implement aids programs in Ukraine and save tens of thousands of lives, with President Clinton and Hilary Clinton, I can say there is a more robust defense of the foundation. But in the context of the politics with their numbers holding up. Candidly,  I have been in the room with Bill Clinton, Martha. He's a practical man. He does what's necessary and right now it isn't necessary."
MacCALLUM: "Is that enough, Monica?"
CROWLEY: "I don't think so. I actually do think she is hemorrhaging support particularly among the left, particularly among Democrats. There was a report yesterday that Elizabeth Warren met behind closed doors with the draft Warren people. So with all of these reports coming out you are having a compounding negative effect especially with swing voters and Democrats who never liked her anyway."
