While boasting that he’s not “sleepy,” Joe Biden thanked the wrong host during an interview Sunday morning.

After his Saturday victory in South Carolina, Biden appeared on three Sunday shows: “Fox News Sunday,” ABC’s “This Week,” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Unfortunately for Biden, the hosts were apparently easily confused.

Biden wrapped his interview with Fox’s Wallace anticipating debating President Trump, “I want people to see me standing next to him, and him standing next to me — we will see who is sleepy.”

"Mr. Vice President, thank you, thanks for your time, please come back in less than 13 years, sir," Wallace said, joking about Biden’s prolonged absence from the Sunday show circuit.

"All right, Chuck, thank you very much," Biden said, confused.

"All right, it’s Chris, but anyway."

"Chris, I just did Chris,” Biden tried explaining. “No, I just did Chuck. I tell you what, man, these are back-to-back, anyway, I don’t know how you do it early in the morning."

Here’s a transcript of the exchange:

WALLACE: “Go ahead, go ahead Mr. Biden.”

BIDEN: “No, no, no, no, I’m not going to do it. I’m not going to try to assign names and insults to the stable genius. This is a guy who doesn’t know what he’s doing, he doesn’t know how to run a country, he is making us more unsafe, the way he is responding to the Coronavirus, he has done virtually nothing well, that I can see, so I can hardly wait to debate him on stage, I want people to see me standing next to him, and him standing next to me. We will see who is sleepy.

WALLACE: “Mr. Vice president, thank you, thanks for your time, please come back in less than 13 years, sir.”

BIDEN: “All right, Chuck, thank you very much.”

WALLACE: “All right, it’s Chris, but anyway.”

BIDEN: “Chris, I just did Chris. No, I just did Chuck. I tell you what, man, these are back-to-back, anyway, I don’t know how you do it early in the morning.”

WALLACE: “Safe travels on the champagne trail, thank you, sir.”

BIDEN: “Thank you.”

WALLACE: “Up next, we will bring in our Sunday group to discuss whether the race for the democratic nomination stands, two days from super Tuesday.”
