Sen. Hirono: I Called for Barr to Resign Back in 2019 ‘and It’s Only Gotten Worse Since that Time’

HIRONO: “All of these people and groups are coming together who are very concerned about the rule of law in this country and it’s a concern that many of us who sit on the Judiciary Committee, the Democrats, anyway, have been expressing for some months. And in fact, Andrea, I called for Bill Barr to resign back in May of 2019 when it was very clear that he had put the thumb on the Mueller report and mischaracterized that report and lied to members of Congress. So I called on him to resign then and it’s only gotten worse since that time, his desire to protect the president."
