‘The White House now reacting to growing calls for Attorney General Bill Barr to resign over the Roger Stone sentencing controversy’

ROBERTS: "And this will go on for a few days at least to come, I would think, as the Roger Stone case proceeds through the courts toward sentencing hearing scheduled for February 20th. But the Attorney General is still on the hot seat today about his recommendation, his department's recommendation to reduce the suggested sentence for Roger Stone. As you mentioned, in a joint letter that was assembled by Project Democracy, a group that opposes a lot of President Trump’s policies, 1,100 former members of the DoJ, who worked in both Democratic and Republican administrations, strongly condemning what they say is interference in the fair administration of justice by the Attorney General and the President. The letter in part says, 'Mr. Barr's actions in doing the President’s personal bidding unfortunately speak louder than his words. Those actions and the damage they have done to the Department of Justice's reputation for integrity and the rule of law require Mr. Barr to resign.'”
