Chris Matthews Laments a Lack of Anti-Trump Protesters at the Capitol: Not Like Nixon!

‘There’s no one in the streets’

EXCERPT:

MATTHEWS: “What’s really missing here is what was there in the Nixon era, I remember people driving past the White House when you could still drive on Pennsylvania Avenue, right past the White House, blowing their horns, blow your horns we want Nixon to resign. The people were in the streets. This was a national sort of involvement thing with lots of participation in the move to get Nixon out of office. Nothing like that today. No Rallies, no protests, no parades. There’s no one in the streets. No one holding signs. The public doesn’t seem to be aroused to that level like they were with the civil rights movement or in the anti-war movement during Vietnam or the Nixon.“
MELBER: “And Chris —“
MATTHEWS: “It isn’t like that today.”
