OCASIO-CORTEZ: "A lot of what gets deemed as affordable housing is not affordable. And it ends up being part of sometimes a strategy of larger displacement, and that these developers get tax brakes, they build what's affordable, but a lot of what we hear around here is that if we just build more, no matter what, things will get better, right? But in New York City there are three empty apartments for every one person experiencing homelessness. That is wrong.”
