Marc Thiessen: Peace Through Strength Works

‘That was a very thought out strategy and now he’s restored the turn that America will not be pushed around’

EXCERPT:

THIESSEN: “He told the Iranians if you kill a single American, the response will not be against your proxies, it will be against you. They made the mistake of killing an American, crossing his redline, and unlike Barack Obama, he enforces redline and he took out the terrorist mastermind Soleimani. That's not impulsive. That was very carefully thought out strategy and now he’s restored deterrence with the Iranian regime. He's sending them a message that America will not be pushed around, you will not cross our redlines, and Iran is now staying within those redlines. We just saw their response, they were very careful. We have 80,000 troops in the Middle East. They could’ve fired on our bases all within reach in Oman, in Saudi America, in Kuwait. They didn’t do that. They fired on a base in Iraq and they called the Iraqis first to warn them, knowing they would warn us so that we can get our troops out of the way. So that was a — peace through strength works.”
