Carlos Curbelo: Trump Anxious To Claim Victory ‘Even When He Doesn’t Win’

‘Now Speaker Pelosi has thrown this curveball where there’s no guarantee there will ever be a trial in the Senate’

EXCERPT:

CURBELO: “And I'll say, one of the reasons you’re seeing a little bit of anxiety from this White House is they expected that this would get to the Senate, there would be an expeditious trial and that the President could claim victory. This is a president that is always anxious to claim victory in some way."
JANSING: "Not just anxious to. He does it. He does it whether there’s a victory or not.
CURBELO: "That’s right, even when he doesn’t win. But now Speaker Pelosi has thrown this curveball where there’s no guarantee that there will ever be a trial in the Senate if those impeachment managers don’t get named. That really leaves the question pending and doesn’t allow the President to turn the page before the 2020 election, which is what he’d really like to do."
