BIDEN: “Lots of places say you won't walk across town to get five cents more on your own, even if you're not a member of a union for another job. It's all about depressing the wages for working people. But folks, look, we're in a situation now where we find ourselves in a position that you are the victims of power, significant amount of power, and it's not just about the wage, which is critically important. $15 is the minimum anyone should be making just to able to stay out of poverty. It goes well beyond that. It goes to the dignity of workers and there is only one way you can fight back power. That is with more power, and that's union power. Unions are required. You should be able to, and we should, unionize McDonald's. Wall Street didn't build America. The middle class built America, and guess what? Unions built the middle class.”
