Kamala Harris: ‘My Entire Career Has Been About Fighting for Justice’

‘My career has been one of fighting for justice’

EXCERPT:

HARRIS: "I went to Harvard University, I went back to law school, and then I started my career. And my entire career has been about fighting for justice. From when I was elected to be the first black woman in the state of 40 million people, to be a district attorney in San Francisco to when I was elected as Attorney General of California as the first woman, the first black person to  run the second largest -- (Applause) -- thank you. And as Attorney General of California and run the second largest Department of Justice in the United States, second only to the United States Department of Justice. And to now be in the United States Senate as only the second black woman ever elected to the United States Senate. (Applause) And my career has been one of fighting for justice. And it has been about speaking these five words: Kamala Harris for the people."
