Rhodes: Trump’s ‘So Unfit’ that His Closest Aides Tried to Prevent Him from Doing Damage to Country

‘White House Chief of Staff seemed to think that the president of the United States was some kind of danger to the country because he was so unfit for office’

EXCERPT:

RHODES: “It should be concerning to people that the secretary of state and White House chief of staff seemed to think that the president of the United States was some kind of danger to the country because he's so unfit for office. But you're absolutely right. What we’ve seen from Nikki Haley for the last several years is this effort to calibrate her public image so that she's seen as a defender of President Trump, as standing behind President Trump and his belligerent foreign policy and some of his inexplicable behavior, but at the same time kind of winking at everybody else and saying, 'Well, I understand that -- that I’m a different kind of Republican, certainly have a different kind of foreign policy on some issues like Russia and Ukraine. But she can’t really have it both ways. Because you can’t kind of fully embrace Trump and what he's done and at the same time say on all these things that are troubling, you know, I’m a little bit different but I’m not going to go as far as these other officials were in trying to make sure that President Trump was limited in the damage he could do."
