Yang on Bloomberg and the Freedom Dividend: ‘You Don’t Get to Be a Billionaire by Turning Down $1000 a Month’

‘So you never know’

YANG: "Well, it’s opt-in, so he doesn’t need to take it. Knowing Mike, he probably wouldn’t because he has bigger fish to fry. Though you don’t get to be a billionaire by turning down $1,000 a month, so you never know. But the fact is that when the dividend is distributed in Alaska every year, it goes to the richest Alaskan and the poorest and that makes it universal, it removes any stigma. It’s not like you’re getting it, I’m not getting it. You don’t have to keep track of how much people are making. That’s part of what’s made the petroleum dividend in Alaska universally popular for decades."
