Over the last 24 hours the major media has been rampaging against Republicans for orchestrating a “PR stunt” during Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.)’s impeachment hearing Wednesday.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) organized a group of Republican congressmen to attempt sitting in on testimony related to Democrats’ impeachment inquiry. As Republicans expected, they weren’t permitted entry, and used the incident to call for greater transparency.

The major media, which ostensibly favors greater government transparency, instead attacked Republicans for the “PR stunt.” CNN’s “New Day” anchors said “the white men” looked “like a bunch of jerks.” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said the Republican lawmakers looked “like frat guys.”

But that isn’t to say the media don’t like a good PR stunt. After all, when Democrats arranged a “sit in” to demand new laws restricting gun ownership, reporters could hardly contain their glee.

"An extraordinary sit-in," Savannah Guthrie triumphed.

"Truly one of the most dramatic demonstrations on the House floor in modern American history," celebrated NBC's Peter Alexander.

"A protest like we've never seen before," Jon Karl beamed. "Democrats refused to give in."
