CNN’s Cordero: Mulvaney ‘Basically Said that Corruption Is OK, Corruption Is the Way this Admin. Will Work’

‘ ... and that Americans just need to accept it’

EXCERPT:

CORDERO: "It seems like a pretty clear violation of the emoluments clause, which, again, is the provision that says the president can’t benefit from foreign money or donations. It’s a constitutional issue. Interesting, just this week, a court of appeals in the Fourth Circuit said they are going to reinvigorate an emoluments case against the President. What Mick Mulvaney did, though, in his press conference yesterday is he basically — and this is related to the G-7 and the Ukrainian issue — he basically said corruption is okay, corruption Is the way this administration will work, and that Americans just need to accept it. And it’s obvious in his justifications for the President’s resort being chosen as the G-7, which will have two streams of money, potentially domestic contracts and then also potentially foreign money that could come in. So there are two potential avenues for corruption or conflict of interest."
