The Daily Ledger: Alex Datig Exposes Looting of Taxpayer Dollars in Homeless Housing Scandal

‘Here you’ve got here the mayor of Los Angeles who knows 59, 000 people are dumping raw sewage into the storm drain’

EXCERPT:

DATIG: "Yes, it's — I mean, it is bank robbery, it is just — it's a looting of taxpayer dollars. We've raised $1.2 billion in taxpayer money to build housing for the homeless, supportive housing, supposed to be ten units, they're going to build less than 7,000 based on the last audit. And these units are costing on average $531,000 a unit. A unit. I mean, we wanted people taken off the streets and sheltered. In the meantime, they've made the homeless problem worse. We had 26,000 homeless people in the city, not the county, the city of Los Angeles, in 2016. Now we have 36,300, so they've taken $1.2 billion in taxpayer dollars, by October, by the end of October they will have spent all of it, all of it. Construction has not started, it's been three years since they've had the money. We have paid $5.2 million in finance charges at the cost of the tax payer because they give the money away so fast that the developers didn't have any plans to do anything with it, so it cost the taxpayer $5.2 million, not one unit is complete."
