Charles Payne on 50 Year Low in Unemployment Number: ‘We’re Back!’
PAYNE: "Good morning that was back in December of 1969 when the unemployment rate was 3.5% and guess what? We’re back. We’re back! 3.5%, the number was out yesterday and let me tell you this is a phenomenon number, in part because there’s a lot of ways the unemployment rate goes down and one of them is when people leave the labor force. It’s a number when last month 117,000 people came back to the labor force, over 100,000 of them were women. So this is an amazing number and by the way, black unemployment rate 5.5%, white 3.2%, Asian 2.5 % Hispanic unemployment rate shattering the record 3.9% in January 2017 it’s 5.8% this was a phenomenal number."
