Steve Moore: ‘There Is No Recession in the Economy Right Now’

‘We now have the lowest unemployment rate since The Beatles were still playing together’

EXCERPT:

MOORE: “Well, first of all, this was a blockbuster number. Think about what a lot of liberal economists have been saying for the last three months. You guys have heard this. A recession is right around the corner. The economy is going over a cliff. And then we get these numbers that keep, you know, showing an improving economy. I have to confess. I was kind of nervous about this jobs report because I was listening to a lot of these economists saying the economy is going south. We get a very, very nice number, about 150,000 new jobs when you include the revisions upward. The President is right. We now have the lowest unemployment rate since The Beatles were still playing together. By the way, not just the lowest overall unemployment rate but the lowest black unemployment rate. The lowest Latino unemployment rate. The lowest Asian unemployment rate. The lowest unemployment rate for women. So these are very positive numbers, and I guess the headline should be 'No recession.' For all this talk about a recession, there is no recession in the economy right now.”
