Carafano: A Lot of Fault for Hong Kong Protests ‘Goes Back to the Chinese Government’

‘They encroached on basic law which insured one country, two systems that preserve the economic and political rights of the people of Hong Kong’

EXCERPT:

CARAFANO: “That is the situation of all three sides, the Hong Kong government, the Chinese government and the protesters, nobody knows a way out of here. And a lot of the fault really goes back to the Chinese government. They encroached on the basic law which insured one country, two systems that preserve the economic and political rights of the people of Hong Kong. They started to encroach and it blew back in their face. They just kind of been watching this like a dumpster fire. And not only does it show that they violate their promises and they don't keep their promises, but they’re clueless about how to help the people of Hong Kong. They are not doing anything proactive and constructive to actually try to end the situation. So they’re doubling down on their failure to really address the responsibility to their own citizens.”
