MEEKS: “The inspector general, it’s unprecedented what’s happening in the United States Congress. Their refusal to participate, to submit subpoenas and to testify, there’s no question about that, which is why I think, speaker Pelosi is singularly focused — she wants him in jail where he belongs. If you look at all the things he’s done, it’s almost as if it was any the, they would be in jail. She’s focused singularly because the truth of the matter is, I agree. I understand the significance and the importance of maybe putting a star next to his name but we could vote tomorrow. We will vote. If it came up, the members of the house overwhelmingly would vote to impeach but he still would be sitting in office. He would still be damaging this country. The one thing that that — this could be something that will be a star on us as a nation for decades, if not for longer. The example and the only example to show that we are standing up for the rule of law is to ultimately for the man sitting in the White House to end up in jail.”
