Boehner: ‘Miracle I Won’ First Election ‘With a Name That Looks Like Boner’ (Mediaite)

During a soliloquy on State of the Union about the advantages of competition on the 2016 GOP primary field, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) recalled his first election, which pitted a man “with a name that looks like Boner” against a candidate named “Tom Kindness.”

“It was a miracle I won,” Boehner said. “So competition is good.”
