MSNBC: Journalist and Political Commentator Cokie Roberts Passes Away at 75

‘Roberts won three Emmys for her work’

JACKSON: "We have some other reporting to tell you about and it is some difficult breaking news to share with you. ABC News is confirming that pioneer journalist Cokie Roberts has died at 75. Roberts won three Emmys for her work. She was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. For many young women in this industry, she was considered a role model. On a personal note, a decade and a half ago when I was a college kid, I cornered Cokie Roberts in a bathroom at a speech she was giving and O asked her about a fork in the road I was facing with my career. She gave me the advice to stay the path, to be curious, to be hungry. Just last week a friend of mine said, 'You should email her and let her know how much that meant to you.' We’re thinking of Cokie Roberts family, her friends and all of our friends at ABC."
