Patrick Stewart Takes a Shot at O’Reilly in Promo for New Cable News Comedy

Stewart will appear in the new show ‘Blunt Talk’ on Starz

Patrick Stewart Grumbles About O’Reilly in Promo for New Cable News Comedy (Mediaite)

Patrick Stewart has conquered both stage and screen, and now he’s off to face his biggest challenge yet: cable news. Stewart plays the lead in a new Starz show, Blunt Talk, as Walter Blunt, a cantankerous British newsman who’s decide to make the jump to American cable news.

Starz released the first teaser for the show (executive produced by Family Guy‘s Seth MacFarlane) today, and in it you get to see Stewart drinking, snorting cocaine, and being generally unpleasant.

But what’s most interesting about the teaser is the apparent shoutout to Bill O’Reilly. One of Blunt’s staffers reads a quote from O’Reilly’s radio show dismissively talking about Blunt being “wounded in the Falklands.” O’Reilly, of course, was scrutinized recently for how he recounted his own time covering the Falklands.
