Joe Scarborough: Gun Rights Have Nothing To Do with Jesus

‘I don’t think that Jesus would support that ISIS view’

EXCERPT:

SCARBOROUGH: “You remember a couple years ago where you actually had a terrorist who was on the top ten wanted list, I think he was an ISIS terrorist, saying, 'I love the United States because you can just go into gun shows or go other places and you can buy guns...'"
BRZEZINSKI: "Privately."
SCARBOROUGH: "' ...and kill a lot of Americans without getting a background check. That’s the best way to kill the most Americans.’ That was an ISIS terrorist saying that and encouraging other terrorists. I don’t think that Jesus would support that ISIS view. I think we should be able to protect our families, we should be able to protect our schools, we should be able to protect — wait for it, wait for it — Texas churches. We should be able to protect 17-month-old babies driving in Texas from the randomness and the craziness of people who can just go and actually in this case get an AR-15, a military-style weapon that, by the way, is not protected by the Constitution. It's not. Don’t get mad at me. Connecticut has banned it. Other states have banned it for a long time and the United States Supreme Court has not stepped in and said that’s unconstitutional. Those laws still stand. That has nothing to do with Jesus. So try again, Ted Cruz."
