Michael Pillsbury: Trump’s ‘Not Inserting’ U.S. Power Into the Hong Kong Situation

‘There’s a parallel approach that the Chinese need to abide by the declaration back in ‘84 in Hong Kong’

EXCERPT:

VITTERT: “We only have 60 seconds here, does the president have to make a choice with deal with the Chinese and protestors’ vision of what Hong Kong needs to look like?”

PILLSBURY: “No, not at all, there’s a parallel approach that the Chinese need to abide by the declaration back in ‘84 in Hong Kong. That’s all protestors are asking for and Chinese need to come to the table with us and agree that the 150 page draft they said was fine with them that’s legally binding, that’s the real hang-up, they are doing to President Trump what they did to the British. It’s not really binding anymore.”
