Brock Long: ‘Anybody from the Florida Keys Well into the Georgia Coast Should Be Paying Very Close Attention’ to Dorian

‘And any small change in the forecast at this point can have huge ramifications along the coast in three days from now’

EXCERPT:

LONG: "Well, right now the most important thing is that anybody from the Florida Keys well into the Georgia Coast should be paying very close attention to what happens. And any small change in the forecast at this point can have huge ramifications along the coast in three days from now. Talking with the national hurricane center and others that are in there working these forecasts, there is nothing in the way of this storm that will keep it from rapidly intensifying. The wind shear will subside and the water temperatures are prime, so I think you can expect to see Dorian, a major hurricane somewhere along the Florida coast. The other thing about this storm is that if you look at the forecast track, it's forecast to possibly re-curve through the southeast. A lot of the river basins inside Florida right now are incredibly saturated, which means it is not just going to be an intense wind and storm surge along the coast, but there could be some major ramifications from the inland flooding as it does travel out through the southeast."
