Steve Kornacki: Is the Monmouth Poll the ‘Future’ for Joe Biden?

‘Is that where this is heading for Joe Biden?’

EXCERPT:

KORNACKI: "Well, no, I think you go to the poll average and even factoring in that new 'Morning Consult' you put up there, about 27, 28% for Biden, still about ten points ahead. I think the thing for his campaign to worry about, though, is given the trajectory of this race, given some of the dynamics that have emerged, is the Monmouth poll the future? Is that where this is heading for Joe Biden? Because when you look inside the numbers there on the Monmouth one, what you really see are some of the weaknesses that we have already identified, that we have long seen in polling when it comes to Joe Biden. Those weaknesses just get a lot worse for him in that poll. For instance, in that Monmouth poll, if you look at Democratic voters under 50 years old, we have seen him struggling with that group the entire campaign. In the Monmouth poll he’s down to 6% with them. He’s tied with Andrew Yang. Maybe he’s not down to that level in reality yet, but that’s a place where he’s been struggling and what the Monmouth poll shows, if you take a few points off his key groups, that’s what the race suddenly looks like."
