CNN’s Daniel Dale: Tucker Carlson ‘Either Has No Idea What He’s Talking About’ or Is Deceiving Viewers on White Supremacy

‘The FBI certainly isn’t playing down the threat of jihadist terrorism, but it’s also making clear over and over again that white supremacist or white nationalist terrorism is a serious and growing threat’

EXCERPT:

DALE: “I’m finding what should be obvious to anyone who saw what happened in El Paso. Tucker Carlson either has no idea what he’s talking about here or is actively deceiving his 3 million viewers a night. You don’t have to trust me on this. You don’t have to trust CNN on this. Listen to what FBI Director Christopher Wray said just a couple weeks ago to Congress.”
BOLDUAN: “I don’t —“
DALE: “Oh — sorry.”
BOLDUAN: “I don’t think we have that sound bite.”
[clip starts]
WRAY: “Through the third quarter of this fiscal year, had about, give or take, a hundred arrests in the international terrorism side ... but we’ve also had just about the same number — again, don’t quote me to the exact digit — on the domestic terrorism side. ... A majority of the domestic terrorism cases that we’ve investigated are motivated by some version of what you might call white supremacist violence.”
[clip ends]
DALE: “So Kate, the FBI certainly isn’t playing down the threat of jihadist terrorism, but it’s also making clear over and over again that white supremacists or white nationalist terrorism is a serious and growing threat.”
