Sen. Gillibrand: We Have a Gun Violence Problem in America Because of the Easy Access to Weapons of War

‘There are mental health issues in every nation in the world’

EXCERPT:

GILLIBRAND: "It’s beside the point. There are mental health issues in every nation in the world. We have a mass shooter problem in America. We have a gun violence problem in America because of the easy access to guns and weapons of war. We have these mass shooting after mass shooting and so many people get killed so quickly because a shooter can get access to a large magazine and a military-style assault rifle. These are weapons of war. They should not be in the hands of everyday Americans. It’s the easy access to weapons that distinguishes America from other countries that have the same mental health crises that we have across the country and across the globe."
