Fox News: DoJ Declines to Prosecute James Comey for Leaking Classified Information

‘Fox News has confirmed independently that the Department of Justice will not prosecute former FBI director James Comey’

EXCERPT:

MCKELWAY: "Hi, Julie. Fox News indeed has confirmed now independently that the Department of Justice will not prosecute former FBI director James Comey. That, after DoJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz referred Comey for potential prosecution to Justice Department prosecutors for leaking classified information. This information has been provided to Fox from a source familiar with the deliberations. The source tells our Justice Department producer Jake Gibson, and a quote now, 'Everyone at the DoJ involved in the decision said it wasn’t a close call. They all thought this could not be prosecuted.' As has been widely reported, Comey wrote memos to preserve his memory of his conversations with President Trump and the days leading up to his firing. He then passed those memos to a friend, Daniel Richman, who teaches law at Columbia University. Richman then leaked the memos per Comey’s request to The New York Times. Comey admitted to that arrangement during congressional testimony. Now, this all comes as Judicial Watch obtained documents under a request that show a month after Comey was fired, FBI agents went to his house to interview him but also to retrieve evidence, including the very memos that had also been delivered to the Columbia University professor for the purpose of leaking. Here's Senator Lindsey Graham."
