Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd on The Daily Rundown Wednesday morning that Terry McAuliffe’s victory in yesterday’s Virginia gubernatorial election was a sign that the swing state was turning Democratic.

“Let’s make sure we understand this is way more than a win being a win,” Wasserman Schultz said. “This was significant. A few years ago, if you were around a pundit table, there’s no way that Chuck Todd would have predicted that in 2013 Virginia would be as close to reliably blue in statewide elections.”

“Is that how you look at that?” Todd asked skeptically.
