Dem Rep. Gallego: Obama Deportation Policy Created Crisis at the Border

GALLEGO: "We certainly did. Look, we were very honest —"
MELVIN: "Why?"
GALLEGO: "Excuse me? Why?"
MELVIN: "Yeah."
GALLEGO: "Because it’s our job as members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to both keep ourselves honest as well as anybody else, especially any future candidates. We do believe that the deportation policy under President Obama was way too harsh and created the environment that we are now living in. And we don’t want to see those mistakes repeated. Of course, we’re also going to do this with all the other candidates. This is not something that’s just going to be aimed at Vice President Biden. We’re going to keep every candidate that comes before us honest and we'll make sure they understand what the priorities are of this caucus."
