Debbie Dingell: It ‘Was a Serious Mistake’ for Trump ‘to Withdraw from the Paris Accord’

‘This president badmouths electric vehicles regularly’

RUSH EXCERPT:

DINGELL: “I have thought from the beginning that this was a serious mistake for him to withdraw from the Paris accord. Look it I am somebody that deals with this issue and has to thread the eye of that needle every single day. I represent the auto industry. And I do want to protect jobs in this country. But there are jobs as we develop newer technology. You know, this — I’ll give an example of something that us from trace me deeply. This president bad mouths electric vehicles regularly. Our growth market, if we want to support our companies in the United States of America for the autos, their growth market is electric vehicles. China, India, western Europe, are mandating them. That’s where they’re going. Carbonless. When he doesn’t support newer technologies, support American innovation in technology, he’s hurting America. I’m disappointed in what he did. I certainly hope that coming out of g20, we’d see something happen on climate change.”
