Mercedes Schlapp: Democrats ‘Are Border Crisis Deniers’

‘It was Senator Schumer who said that there is no crisis on the border’

EXCERPT:

SCHLAPP: "Let’s talk about the Democrats have continuously called the border crisis a 'manufactured crisis.' It was Senator Schumer who said that there is no crisis on the border. It’s the Democrats who, when we sent over a supplemental bill eight weeks ago, failed to work and negotiate with the Republicans. They had decided not even to negotiate with Republicans on ending these incentives, in terms of human trafficking, that have impacted women and children crossing the border. So what we have seen with the Democrats is that they have been a party of open borders, a party that supported smugglers and coyotes, who used these children as pawns. So we’ve seen the tragedy. And what has happened is that it’s been our Border Patrol agents who have suffered the consequences of having to get to a point where they can’t even do their work, their mission that they are being called to do. They are overwhelmed. We need resources. The Democrats have delayed this process time and time again. They have failed to close the legal loopholes, even work with Republicans on resolving the border crisis. And now they are finally reacting and some of them are saying, 'Okay, now we have a humanitarian crisis in the border.' That’s just simply acceptable. They are border crisis deniers, is what they are."
