BUTTIGIEG: "We're living through this right now in South Bend where our whole community is grieving in the wake of a police shooting that claimed the life of a black man in our city. And while the facts are still coming in on what happened, one of the reasons why we're all in so much pain is not just the anguish of a family, but it's the anguish of a community that knows what is at stake in police, that knows the burden that lies over every community due to the fact that through our history, many of the worst moments  in racial injustice in this country were served up at the hands of law enforcement."
