Chris Wallace: If Biden Makes Gaffes Going Forward ‘He Will Be in Trouble’

‘I think the nostalgia for Obama is a big factor’

EXCERPT:

WALLACE: “I guess what I’m saying is I think what Biden does going forward from now is going to be more the issue. If he runs a mistake-free campaign he's going to be in pretty good shape. If he makes some of the gaffes as we’ve called them in the past he will be in trouble. I agree with Bill Bennett that I think the nostalgia for Obama is a big factor. He was Obama’s partner for eight years. There are an awful lot of Democrats, particularly more in the mainstream, more in the center, who really liked that presidency, and what’s interesting is despite the fact that he is not a person of color that I think Biden has a lot of standing in the African-American community when he went down to South Carolina which has a very heavily minority population in terms of its voting base in the Democratic primary, he got a lot of support and I think that’s going to be a big advantage for him over some of these other candidates, white candidates to the left who may not have as much support in the African-American community."
