MSNBC Panel Goes Off on Republicans at Barr Hearing: ‘Playbook of Conspiracy Theory and Fox News Outtakes’

‘They were singing from the president’s song book, as it were’

EXCERPT:

KLAIN: "I think what they were doing weren’t just defending the President as kind of like political allies, but trashing federal law enforcement and basically suggesting that America should keep its guard down when foreign powers try to influence our elections. It goes beyond just merely trying to kind of rally behind the flag of the President of the United States. And to really — you know, really cut away at our counterintelligence protections against foreign influence, and to spread really conspiracy theories on behalf of the President of the United States. That struck me today. There could have been a very reasonable debate about what Mueller did or didn’t conclude, why he did or didn’t conclude things about some of the ambiguities and uncertainties in Mueller report, all fair game, I think, all good discussions. Instead the Republicans ran a playbook of conspiracy theory and Fox News outtakes basically to try to, you know, distract the conversation and basically say what the President wanted them to say."
