MSNBC Guest Rips Pete Buttigieg for ‘Making His Gayness an Issue’ by Kissing His Husband Onstage

‘I don’t think there’s going to be an Exodus of gay Republican voters’

EXCERPT:

GIBSON: "He's made gayness an issue as much as a straight people has made their straightness an issue. He barely mentioned that he was a gay person during his speech to declare his candidacy, how is it making it an issue?"

SUMMER: "I disagree. I think he made it a huge issue."

GIBSON: "How?"

SUMMER: "He talked about his spouse, Chasten, and the fact that they were, you know, married, he — and let’s be real, this is not a typical candidate. We haven’t had a gay presidential candidate ever in the history of the United States. And he made it an issue. He could have ignored it. He could have said nothing, and people would speculate about it. But he made it an issue. So he wants that to be an identifier."
