Rep. Max Rose: This Administration Is ‘Certainly’ Ignoring the Domestic Terrorism Threat

‘We cannot afford to ignore it any longer and this administration certainly is [doing that]’

EXCERPT:

ROSE: "There’s no doubt this requires a multi-faceted effort. You know, what we've seen — take ISIS, for instance . ISIS has moved from being a land-holding entity to now a diffused terrorist organization that relies on a pervasive ideology. Now, what's interesting about that private media or social network that you referenced is this individual who committed this attack also included a link where he intended to do a live feed on Facebook. There is no silver bullet in this. Absolutely not. And it certainly isn't conducting never-ending wars, either. But with that being said, I do think these very large social media companies have a responsibility that they are not perfectly fulfilling right now. They would admit it. Certainly, when they do their job, as they should be, this threat will move somewhere else. I have no doubt of that and we have got to stay vigilant. This is a fight that we'll be conducting for the rest of our lives, but it is not just a threat from overseas. There's a threat now of domestic terrorism that we cannot afford to ignore any longer, and this administration certainly is."
