Sunny Hostin Grills Mike Lee: ‘Rather than Mocking, What Is Your Plan’ for Climate Change

‘You can’t deny the science that climate change is real’

EXCERPT:

HOSTIN: "I want to change subjects because it’s Earth Day. And you made a lot of headlines recently for a presentation you gave on the Senate floor essentially mocking the Green New Deal. And we have some highlights I think."
[clip starts]
LEE: "This is of course a picture of former president Ronald Reagan, naturally firing a machine gun while riding on the back of a dinosaur. ... In a future without air travel, how are we supposed to get around the vast expanses of, say, Alaska, during the winter? I'll tell you how. Tauntauns, Mr. President. ... Mr. President, this is the real solution to climate change, babies."
[clip ends]
HOSTIN: "Now, nowhere in the Green New Deal does it say that -- that people want to eliminate air travel. That was a 13-minute presentation I think that was pretty wasteful of government time. But you can’t deny the science that climate change is real. So, rather than mocking, what is your plan? What is your plan?"
LEE: "There are three independent questions that we have to ask ourselves in connection to climate change. Is the plan warming? Is humans activity responsible? And if the answers to the first two questions are yes, what if anything do we do about.”
