EXCERPT:

HAYES: "I was — I went to the House of Representatives on the day that the new members were getting sworn in. We saw each other. And you go into the Rayburn Building and House Speaker, new House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had made a change of the rules so that more family member could be in these photos. And it was quite a scene, and I have to say, it brought home the starkest reality of American politics at this moment. And it's something that I think is very clear just even as the candidates for the Democratic Party come through this room. One half of the American political party system is essentially a segregated entity. One half of the American political party system, there's two parties. One party is almost entirely all white. It's just a factual thing, right? So, America is a diverse place, it's a place with people from all kinds of different backgrounds and all kinds of different life experiences, and on one side, none of that is apparent.”
