Politico’s Nancy Cook: ObamaCare Repeal ‘Is a Real Losing Argument for the White House’

‘I think White House aides were quite worried about that’

EXCERPT:

COOK: “I think we saw Democrats talk about health care excessively leading up to the midterms, and that was such a winning argument for them. And now we have Trump last week saying that he wants to double down and repeal ObamaCare, which is a real losing argument for the White House at least. I think White House aides were quite worried about that. And so I think that we’ll see the sort of policy contrast where you know, Democrats could potentially play on health care being one of them, climate change being another. I think a key vulnerability for the Trump campaign is what does the state of the economy look like in a year. We’ve seen projections of economic growth slated to slow down. So, those present real openings for Democrats, I think and really worry Trump campaign officials."
