Bernie Sanders on Eliminating Private Health Insurance: ‘Get Rid of the Insurance Companies’

‘Current system is incredibly dysfunctional and wasteful’

SANDERS: “Because we have to recognize that current system is incredibly dysfunctional and wasteful. Its it cause — you’re not going to be able to in the long run to have cost effective health care unless you get rid of the insurance companies, stand up to the greed and lower prescription drug costs. If you can provide quality care. I looked at health care the same way as I look at public education. Same way I look at police protection and fire protection. That is the most cost effective way to have health care for all.”
