MSNBC: Manafort Indicted in NY Minutes After Federal Sentencing

‘34 minutes after Manafort was sentenced in D.C. he was indicted here in New York’

EXCERPT:

TUR: “To be clear, what begins with a 'P,' pardon, and that sounded a lot like Manafort’s lawyer not so subtly asking the President for a pardon. But just wait, that may not matter any longer because 34 minutes after Paul Manafort was sentenced in D.C. he was indicted here in New York. NBC News reported that the Manhattan D.A. charged Manafort with 16 counts ranging from residential mortgage fraud to conspiracy. If he is found guilty of those charges, because they are state crimes, he would not be eligible for a pardon. But this is only part of our focus today. Our big question is, are state prosecutors trying to make sure the President and his inner circle can’t gain the judicial system.”
