David Axelrod Claims the Obama Administration Has Never Had a ‘Major Scandal’

‘I’m proud of the fact that basically, you’ve had an administration that’s been in place for six years in which there hasn’t been a major scandal’

"I think in the administration itself, in the White House, I don't think that's true. I mean, there are exceptions, there have been a few exceptions, but the rule has basically been that there has been a ban on the revolving door and there's this two-year strictures against such a revolving door.

I know when I left they were pretty strict strictures about who I could -- I didn't take any other clients but the reelection campaign when I left in 2001 because I had I could not have initiated the call to anyone in the White House if I had a client who had any interests before the administration. That didn't exist before.

So, you know, it is -- has it been pristine, has there been any sort of shading anywhere I can’t say that's the case. But has it been light-years different than it was before? Absolutely and I'm proud of the fact that basically you had an administration that been in place for six years in which there hasn't been a major scandal.”
