Bill Richardson: Trump ‘Was Right in Walking Away’ from North Korea

‘The reality is that I don’t think North Koreans were ready to take any significant steps to dismantle’

RUSH EXCERPT:

RICHARDSON: “t was a setback for both sides, but I think the president was right and walking away. The North Koreans have committed comedic denuclearization. They are fired for wanting to do that. I think the president, the biggest weapon we have on the North Koreans is sanctions. Both sides are spending right now after what happened. The reality is that I don’t think North Koreans were ready to take any significant steps to dismantle. That is the key word. They are nuclear, they are missiles, they are weapons of mass destruction capacity. They were ready may be to freeze some of their nuclear facilities, destroy one, which I have been to. I don’t think it’s that significant anymore. But I think Pompeo was right, the secretary was right. We’ve got to keep talking. You’ve got to keep negotiations going. At a lower level, not on the presidential level.”
