Lara Logan: It’s Not a Fact that This Is The Most Dangerous Time in History

‘Why is my job to pick one political position and then advocate for that, then do everything I can to find the information that proves my case?’

LOGAN: "It's not a fact that this is the most dangerous time in history. It's not a fact that this is the most dangerous man since wherever. Perhaps if you can show me evidence of hundreds of thousands — no, wait, millions of people being burned alive and tortured and killed, well, then you could have a different conversation about that, right? It stretches into a different realm. But at this point, based on the evidence that we have, based on the facts that we have, that's not the case. This is an opinion of someone, right? This is not a fact. This is an opinion. And there are many other people with a different opinion. So why is it my job to pick one political position and then advocate for that and then do everything I can to find the information that proves my case? That has never been my job. And really, the other thing that makes me nuts is people saying it's never been more important for us to do our jobs as journalists and hold people to account. Truth to power. What a load of hogwash. Are you serious?"
