Former Hillary Adviser Reines Blasts ‘Arrogant’ Sanders Supporters: ‘Yes, I’m Reacting Strongly’

‘It seems like there is an arrogance among Sanders supporters, yes, I am reacting strongly to it’

EXCERPT:

SHAHID: "No. All he says is that he won on the issues, which is very clear that he did."
REINES: "Well, how do you win anything when you lose by 4 million votes? That doesn't make sense."
SHAHID: "Because Medicare-for-all, the Green New Deal, free colleges now at the center of the party."
REINES: "That’s great. Like I said, the debate is now here. But you have to know that you have Elizabeth Warren and you have Kamala Harris and Cory Booker. It is not going to be as simple as 'Hillary is not authentic, you don’t like her, come to me.' He’s got to go after those voters to bring everybody together and it does not seem like it is in him to start from scratch. It seems like there is an arrogance among Sanders supporters. And yes, I am reacting strongly to it, but I think six months from now this is something the Sanders campaign is going to say, 'Uh-oh —"
SHAHID: "The Sanders campaign is going to run a positive campaign, as you saw with the grassroots enthusiasm, and I don’t think they’re going to pay attention to what consultants in Washington or what donors on Wall Street think. I think they're going to run a grassroots campaign."
