Rep. Ro Khanna: Green New Deal ‘Is Just a Common Sense’

‘We should lead in electric cars’

EXCERPT:

JACKSON: "A few questions on this Green New Deal. Do you regret the way it was rolled out? Do you wish that had happened in a more clean way?"
KHANNA: "Sure. It would have been better if the actual document was released, which is common sense. There are two points to note. One, this is not a new idea. Barack Obama ran on a green new deal. The term was actually coined by Thomas Friedman. Bill Clinton has championed it. It’s just common sense. Instead of China leading the clean tech economy, America should lead it. We should be creating the jobs in solar and wind, the fastest growing industries. We should be leading in electric cars. That’s what the Green New Deal is. And it appeals to a broad segment of the American people."
