MSNBC: New Book By Trump Admin Staffer Details Trump Asking Paul Ryan Why He Can’t Be Loyal

‘The book claims Trump watched on television, increasingly angry’

GEIST: "A new book by a former Trump Administration staff member shedding some light on the White House he describes as absolutely out of control. The book 'Team of Vipers' was written by former communications staffer Cliff Sims. In one excerpt obtained by 'The Washington Post' Sims describes what happened when then House Speaker Paul Ryan criticized President Trump’s handling of the 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. The book claims that Trump watched on television, increasingly angry and yelled for assistant to get Ryan on the phone. Quote, 'Paul, do you know why Democrats have been kicking your blank for decades? Because they know a little word called loyalty,' Trump apparently told Ryan. 'Why do you think Nancy Pelosi has held on this long? Have you seen her? She’s a disaster. Every time she opens her mouth another Republican gets elected. But they stick with her. Why can't you be loyal to your president, Paul?' The book also goes on to describe the President reacting to Ryan distancing himself from Trump in October 2016 in the aftermath of 'Access Hollywood' tape. Quote, 'I remember being in Wisconsin and your own people were booing you,' Trump told Ryan. 'You are out there dying like a dog, Paul, like a dog. And what did I do? I saved your blank.' I another excerpt obtained by 'The New York Times,' Sims describes the White House press secretary Sarah Sanders explaining to the President that little could be done about a journalist he did not care for when Trump asked why the person could not be suspended. Cliff Sims, by the way, will be our guest on 'Morning Joe' next week."
