Mark Warner Calls for Bill Barr to Withdraw: His Only Qualification Is He’s Against Mueller

‘I think Mr. Barr, unfortunately, in a sense disqualified himself when he sent these unsolicited memos that seemed to say hey look at I’m against the Mueller investigation’

EXCERPT:

WARNER: "I’ve already said that I thought it was appropriate for Mr. Barr to withdraw. Listen, he's got a great reputation. He’s got experience. But let’s look at the facts. We got a president who is obsessed about the Mueller investigation. He’s tried to do everything possible to undermine it. He put in this acting guy Mr. Whitaker whose only qualification is he was against the Mueller investigation. And I think Mr. Barr, unfortunately, in a sense disqualified himself when he sent these unsolicited memos that seemed to me almost unseeingly saying hey look at I’m against the Mueller investigation. I think the president has extensive executive powers. And I think with this kind of cloud over Trump’s view of Mueller, we don’t need an attorney general that is going to be at all compromised on this issue."
